Russia’s Vladivostok International Airport (VVO) handled more than 233,000 passengers during the first month of 2026, marking an 11% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth was largely driven by a robust performance in the international sector, which saw passenger volumes surge by 33% to reach 69,000 travelers.
China remains a primary driver for the airport’s international segment, accounting for over 37,000 passengers. Significant traffic gains were specifically recorded on routes serving Beijing, Harbin, and Pyongyang.
On the domestic front, Russian far eastern airport processed 164,000 passengers, representing a 4% year-on-year rise. Demand was particularly strong for flights to Novosibirsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Moscow, and Khabarovsk.
This domestic growth was supported by strategic capacity increases, including Rossiya Airlines’ resumption of services to Khabarovsk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, as well as S7 Airlines expanding its Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk frequency to 10 weekly flights.
