SR Technics wins an exclusive engine services contract with Ukraine International
SR Technics, the Swiss-headquartered maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services provider, has been awarded an exclusive seven-year engine maintenance contract with Ukraine International Airlines (UIA). The agreement covers a minimum of 34 CFM56-7B shop visits. Meanwhile, in August of this year, work has started on the first engine at the SR Technics engine shop in Zurich.
Ukraine’s flag carrier and SR Technics have enjoyed a continuous partnership since April 2017, when the airline signed a five-year contract for integrated component services with SR Technics for UIA’s Boeing 737NG fleet. Swiss company secured the new engine services contract following a competitive commercial offer, a statement says. During three trial shop visits performed earlier this year, the SR Technics team provided UIA with examples of its services.
“We are certainly proud to have been selected as the exclusive supplier for the CFM56-7B engine services that UIA requires,” says Michael Sattler, chief commercial officer at SR Technics. “With our all-inclusive fixed-price offer we have demonstrated our flexibility in pricing and our willingness to go the extra mile to expand our cooperation with a key partner,” he states.
“UIA technical and operational staff work hard together with our SR Technics partner in order to provide the most reliable and safest operation for passengers,” insists Evgeniya Satska, UIA’s communications director.
Privately-owned Ukraine International Airlines currently operates a 42-strong fleet, consisting of three B777-200ERs, four B767-300ERs, 24 B737-800s, four B737-900s and five Embraer-190s and 2 Embraer-195s.
