Sochi has confirmed its status of the most attractive business aviation destination in Russia, after two capitals, Moscow and St. Petersburg. In the three summer months of 2016 private charters to this Black Sea resort were accountable for 9% of the entire business aviation traffic in Russia, according to a recent research by Capital AviaNeft, which specializes in dispatch services for corporate and private operators.

Another company, Air Charter Service reported on the growing interest for Sochi early in 2015.

Domestic corporate and private charter traffic has been inclining towards destinations in the south of Russia. Besides Sochi, the most popular Russian destinations in the summer season were Kazan with 7%, Krasnodar and Rostov (5% each), and Mineralnye Vody (4%). Yekaterinburg, Samara, Kaliningrad, Belgorod and Vladivostok cumulatively served 10% of business aviation passengers.

Share of Moscow and St. Petersburg in domestic traffic historically exceeds 60%.

Domestic destinations account for 35% of Russia’s total traffic volume generated by Russian business aviation customers.
