Sheremetyevo finalizes acquisition of nationalized Domodedovo airport
Deal backed by PSB Bank follows state seizure of assets

Perspektiva, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sheremetyevo International Airport (MASH), has signed an agreement with PSB Bank to acquire the assets of the recently nationalized Domodedovo Airport. The transaction, finalized on February 9, comes ten days after Sheremetyevo won a state tender for the assets with a bid of 66.13 billion rubles.
The agreement was signed by Perspektiva CEO Alexander Ilyin, with Sheremetyevo CEO Mikhail Vasilenko in attendance. Following the closing, Vasilenko stated that the government’s primary mandate for the new management is to “ensure the stable operation and break-even performance” of the facility.
The deal marks the end of a long-standing private era for Moscow’s Domodedovo. Originally privatized in 1998, the airport’s assets were seized by the state in June 2025 following a ruling by the Moscow Region Arbitration Court.
The seizure followed a lawsuit by the Prosecutor General’s Office, which alleged that the airport’s beneficial owners, Dmitry Kamenshchik and Valery Kogan, violated federal law. Authorities argued that as foreign residents, the pair illegally controlled a strategic Russian enterprise and diverted profits abroad. Consequently, 100% of DME Holding LLC—the parent company of what was once Russia’s largest airport—was transferred to the federal property agency, Rosimushchestvo.
This is not Sheremetyevo’s first foray into regional airport management. In 2008, a presidential decree granted MASH a controlling interest in Vladivostok’s Knevichi Airport to oversee infrastructure upgrades for the 2012 APEC Summit. Sheremetyevo eventually divested its stake to an international investment consortium in 2016.
