S7 receives its first Embraer E170

S7 is to receive 16 more of the type The aircraft is S7's first painted into the carrier's new livery

S7 Airlines’ first Embraer E170LR arrived on April 25 at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport. This addition makes the carrier the first Russian operator of the type.

The aircraft, registration code VQ-BBO, was produced in 2003. It was previously operated by US carrier Republic Airline and is the first aircraft painted in S7’s new color scheme. The airliner is equipped with General Electric CF34 engines.

S7 expects to receive 16 more E170LRs. GE Capital Aviation Services has been announced as the lessor for the all-economy 78-seaters. Russian MRO provider Engineering Holding is expected to take care of the aircraft’s maintenance.
