S7 Group’s traffic grows 21% in November
In November 2016, Sibir and Globus, the two carriers that make up S7 Group and operate under S7 Airlines brand, served 912,500 passengers, up 21.3% from the same month last year, the group said in a report. The growth rate has remained at the same level as in October this year, when it reached 20.2%. The group projects that its traffic will continue growing through December.
The group’s domestic traffic grew faster. In November both airlines carried 679,000 passengers within Russia, up 23% from November 2015. International traffic for the same period grew 16.5% to 233,500 passengers.
In the first 11 months of this year S7 Group’s carriers jointly served over 12 million passengers. The traffic growth rate since the beginning of the year has thus averaged at least 22.3%.
Both Sibir and Globus are among Russia’s few carriers that managed to maintain high traffic growth rates in the midst of shrinking domestic market. However, in November the industry for the first time showed a 15% year-on-year monthly growth. S7 in the meantime still manages to outpace the market average.
