S7 Group reports 20% domestic traffic growth in October

In October this year the cumulative traffic of S7 Group (which is made of parent S7 Airlines and Globus) grew 20.2% in October to 1.113 million passengers. In September the group’s growth rate reached 27.3%. Commenting on October results the airline said that they are in line with the forecast. The traffic growth rate is expected to pick up again in November and December.

S7 Group carried 815,600 passengers on domestic routes. This is sound 19.6% better than in the same month last year, but still below the record 30% year-on-year result shown in September.

The traffic growth on international routes picked up in October. The airline served 296,600 passengers, which is 22.1% better than last year. In September international traffic grew 21.2% year-on-year.

According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, in the first nine months of this year S7 Airlines’ traffic grew 24.6% year-on-year to 11.289 million passengers. Globus’ traffic growth rate outpaced that of S7’s with 47.3% against 17.8% (3.051 million passengers and 8.236 million passengers, respectively).

Across the entire Russian air transport industry the traffic grew 4% in October.
