Russia’s Utair: transporting more by jets and less by helicopters

During first five months of 2025, the Russia-based Utair Group served a total of 2.609 million passengers, which is comparable to the same period in 2024 (+0.3%). Total as well as domestic fixed-wing traffic increased, while helicopters and international jet traffic decreased.

Overall passenger traffic generated by aircraft operations increased 2.1% compared to the same period in 2024, to 2.417 million. 191,410 passengers were transported by helicopters, a decrease of 17.2% yer-on-year.

1.9 million passengers (+6.1% year-on-year) chose Utair for domestic flights, while 10,4% less passengers (517,830) traveled on international routes.

5,420 tons of cargo (-8.7%) and 664 tons of mail (-49.7%) were transported. The group’s helicopters transported 12,300 tons of cargo (-32.9%).
