VTS Jets cleared for Russian-registered bizjets maintenance
Vostok Technical Service Jets (VTS Jets), an independent MRO service provider based in Moscow Vnukovo-3 airport and specializing on Bombardier business jets, has received Federal Air Transport Agency FAR-285 compliance certificate. It authorizes the company to provide maintenance for the growing fleet of Russian-registered bizjets.
VTS Jets’ Russian certificate includes the same aircraft types the company is allowed to work with under the European EASA Part 145 certificate. The aircraft in question are Bombardier Global family and Challenger 300/350/604/605/850. The company is authorized to provide line maintenance.
According to Andrey Akopov, VTS Jets CEO, the number of business jets in the Russian registry is growing. The list of airworthiness certificates issued by Federal Air Transport Agency as of January 31, 2017 includes 23 business aircraft registered in Russia – five Challenger 300/350 (BD-100-1A10), five Challenger 604/605 (CL-600-2B16), eleven Challenger 850 (CL-600-2B19) and two Global (BD-700 Series).
VTS Jets started its operation in August, 2015. Beside European and Russian certificates the company has approvals from aviation authorities of Qatar, Cayman Islands, Aruba and Bermuda Islands.
The aircraft undergo maintenance in the new hangar in Vnukovo-3, Russia’s busiest FBO. The company also provides AOG (aircraft on ground) support for business jets. Its specialists are ready to service an aircraft not only in Vnukovo but in two other airports of Moscow as well as in a number of airports of Russia and CIS.
Last year VTS Jets signed an agreement with the German Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services (LBAS) to create Bombardier business jet maintenance center in Vnukovo-3. Beside line maintenance and AOG services the center will perform fault checks and repairs.
