Russian Helicopters built four Mi-8/171 helicopters for Rosneft

Russian Helicopters Holding built four Mi-8/171 helicopters for Rosneft oil company. These are two Mi-8AMTs and two Mi-171s. The Mi-8AMTs are adapted for offshore operations and use navigation equipment designed for arctic Mi-8AMTSh-VA helicopters produced for the Russian Defense Ministry. It is not specified when the helicopters will be delivered to Rosneft air unit – company.
Russian Helicopters stressed that Mi-8AMT helicopters for Rosneft have a digital autopilot PKV-8 installed for the first time. It previously used only in military Mi-8AMTSh-VA. The system facilitates the work of the pilots, as it allows to fly in automatic mode via a given route, as well as improves the controllability and flight stability of the helicopter. In addition, the PKV-8 has a number of other functions, including the automatic approach and hovering of the helicopter.
In addition, Mi-8AMTs built for the oil company are equipped with a redundant multifunctional navigation system BMS (works with satellites both of GPS and GLONASS systems) and a digital navigation system TsNS-02 with a built-in map generator. The helicopters also have an Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System and Traffic Collision Avoidance System MSNVO-2010 and weather radar A-813M-380-20 that notifies about the meteorological situation, both in the horizontal and in the vertical. CMA-2012 Doppler system provides a more precise hovering of the helicopter including over the water surface. Flight and navigation information is displayed on the multifunction LCDs. Auxiliary Power Unit TA-14 provides greater altitude engine starting, increased power, and working in the generator mode, said the manufacturer.
