Russian airlines’ traffic exceeds 95 million passengers in 10 months of 2024

October passenger traffic saw growth of 6.5 percent year-on-year

In October 2024 Russian airlines carried collectively 9.5 million passengers, up 6.5 per cent on the same month of 2023, according to the country’s aviation regulator Rosaviatsiya.

The average seat load factor reached 90.3 per cent, having gained 0.8 percentage point over the year. This is an evident indicator of capacity shortage on the market.

The traffic growth was generated mostly by Russia’s largest airlines – specifically those, which make up Aeroflot Group – Aeroflot, LCC Pobeda and Rossiya, which enjoyed double-digit growth.

Traditionally, the list of the country’s TOP-5 largest airlines includes, after Aeroflot, Pobeda and Rossiya, privately-owned S7 Airlines and Ural Airlines.

The leading airlines carried collectively 6.7 million passengers, which accounts for over 70 per cent of the total traffic. The figure exceeds last year’s October traffic by 7.5 per cent.

In the first ten months of 2024 Russian airlines served 95.7 million passengers.
