Passenger traffic of Russian airlines in July increased by 4% year-on-year to 12 million, according to preliminary data from Rosaviatsia.

The Top 5 largest carriers included Aeroflot, Rossiya, S7 Airlines (Sibir), Pobeda, and Ural Airlines. Together, they carried 8.3 million passengers, representing a 4.1% growth over July 2023. LCC Pobeda slipped to the fourth place in the ranking, letting privately-run S7 Airlines ahead.

Earlier Aeroflot, the flag carrier, revealed that it served 3.2 million passengers in the month, while the traffic of the entire Aeroflot Group (Aeroflot, Rossiya and Pobeda) amounted to 5.8 million.

Commenting on the month’s results, Alexander Fridlyand, director of the Center for Scientific Support of the State Policy in Civil Aviation, stated that both “…operational financial results and seat load factor are growing, the same applies to the leading (Top 5) Russian air carriers”.
