Russian airlines increased passenger traffic by 8.8% in January-February

15 million passengers were carrier in first two months of 2024

Russian airlines carried 15 million passengers in January-February 2024, which is 8.8% more than in the same period of 2023, according to Rosaviatsia’s preliminary data.

In the same time, the total passenger traffic of the country’s five largest carriers grew by 11.8% year-on-year to 10.6 million. This means that the Top Five generates 70.6% of all passenger traffic.

The Top Five, according to the aviation regulator, are ranked as below:

1. Aeroflot

2. Pobeda Airlines

3. S7 Airlines

4. Rossiya Airlines

5. Ural Airlines

According to carriers’ own reports, Aeroflot served 4.16 million passengers in the first two months of this year, while Ural Airlines served 1.28 million. Given that combined traffic of Aeroflot group airlines (Aeroflot, LCC Pobeda and Rossiya) amounted to 7.51 million passengers, this leaves S7 Airlines, which has stopped providing its operating data, with about 1.80 million passengers carried.
