One more SSJ100 delivered to Interjet

Mexico’s low-fares carrier Interjet has received its 18th Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ 100) regional airliner, a source at Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) has confirmed to Russian Aviation Insider. The 93-seat aircraft (tail number XA-VER, S.N. 95072) entered service with the airline at the end of November.
The Mexican carrier signed two contracts for a total of 30 Russian-built aircraft. Deliveries will continue throughout 2016, with the last airliner scheduled for delivery by year-end.
Interjet received its first SSJ 100 about two years ago. The new type enabled the carrier to expand its route network. Interjet operates the largest fleet of SSJ 100s outside Russia, and is only surpassed in terms of the type operating rate by Russia’s Red Wings.
The Interjet SSJ 100s have demonstrated mostly incident-free performance, for the exception of one airliner sustaining damage while towed at a Mexican airport earlier this year.
In August 2015, Interjet performed first C-checks on two of its SSJ 100s. The aircraft have proven to be robust and reliable even for Interjet’s highly intensive operations, CEO Jose Luis Garza has commented.
