Lithuanian MRO provider to support flag carrier of Luxembourg’s B737 fleet
FL Technics, the Lithuanian provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, has recently signed a long-term contract with Luxembourg flag carrier Luxair, for the provision of MRO services for its entire small fleet of Boeing 737NGs.
The first aircraft will be handled at the beginning of November, 2018, in Kaunas, and will shortly be followed by two more.
“Recent developments in the management structure of Luxair Technics, together with the company’s decision to grow its Boeing 737NG fleet, gave us the opportunity to evaluate our future technical requirements in terms of base maintenance services. Having collaborated with numerous MROs over the past years, we experienced FL Technics during the last C-Check season and remained positively impressed with their levels of professionalism, know-how on type, and customer focus,” notes Nitulescu Cristian Alexandru, head of engineering and planning at Luxair Group.
The extended cooperation between the companies comes after a successful project covering the first three Luxair aircraft maintained by Lithuania-based FL Technics in 2017. Luxair currently operates two Boeing 737-700s and four Boeing 737-800s and plans to acquire two more B737-700s in 2019, as it seeks to expand its route network.
