Lithuania’s KlasJet expands its fleet to six aircraft

KlasJet 27-year-old vintage all-economy B737-500 is mainly meant for charter flights and ACMI (KlasJet)

KlasJet, a Lithuanian private and specialist business carrier, which is part of the fast-growing Avia Solutions Group, has added a Boeing 737-500  – “with the refined economy class interior and 120 seats” – to its fleet.

In doing so, KlasJet is able to extend its business to new markets. The new arrival 27-year-old vintage CFM56-3C1-powered aircraft (registered as LY-JMS) is to be primarily employed on charter flights, ACMI wet lease and other specific customer needs, the company says.

“During the past year we have expanded our operations, developing a new corporate charter flights segment with our specially-designed business class B737-500s. The LY-JMS, will allow us to offer our services for a new type of customer,” insists Justinas Bulka, KlasJet’s chief executive.

With the newest addition, KlasJet has now expanded its fleet to six aircraft, comprising a Bombardier CRJ200, a Bombardier Challenger 850, and four variable all-business-class-configured Boeing 737-500s.

The latest expansion of the fleet was made possible because of the close cooperation between Avia Solutions Group’s MRO companies Jet Maintenance Solutions and FL Technics, as well lessor AviaAM Leasing, another sister company.

“Soon we will release another specially-designed, versatile business class B737-500 (LY-FLT) with an interchangeable interior that is able to transform from 68 to 102 business class seats,” Bulka notes.

Founded in 2013 to serve customers in European and Middle East markets, KlasJet targets specific customer segments and groups such as sports clubs, show business clients, diplomatic flights, VIP flights, VIP tours, and events such as those focused on meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.
