GTLK becomes the largest customer for SJ-100, IL-114 and Tu-214 aircraft
The lessor will purchase a total of 238 Russian aircraft
Russia’s State Transport Leasing Company (known by its Russian acronym GTLK) has become the largest customer of Russian-developed SJ-100 and IL-114-300 regional aircraft, as well as medium-haul Tu-214 airliner. The company signed an agreement with the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) on the terms of delivery of 132 SJ-100s, 65 IL-114-300s and 41 Tu-214s at the Eastern Economic Forum (VEF) in Vladivostok on September 4.
The aircraft are planned to be delivered to Russian “regional airlines” in 2027-2032.
Taking into account the agreement signed at the VEF in 2022 on the delivery of eight SJ-100 aircraft (destined for Aurora United Far Eastern Airlines), the total order of GTLK for passenger airliners manufactured by UAC now includes 246 aircraft.
Only Aeroflot Group has ordered more locally-developed aircraft – 339, including 210 medium-haul MC-21s, 89 SJ-100s and 40 Tu-214s.
Given new agreements, UAC’s order book for SJ-100 regional jets has grown to 229 aircraft, which exceeds the aircraft manufacturer’s claimed production capability. According to the government program for the development of the aviation industry, the corporation should produce 142 SJ-100s by 2030, with an annual production rate of 28 aircraft starting from 2027. That is, it can produce only 198 aircraft of this type until 2032.
It is expected that deliveries of MC-21 and Tu-214 will start from 2025, and SJ-100 and IL-114 – from 2026.
