FL Technics strengthens its position with the acquisition of Italy’s Flash Line Maintenance
The Lithuanian MRO will expand its network to more than 50 line maintenance stations
FL Technics, a fast growing Lithuania-based provider of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, has begun 2020 by strengthening its market position in Europe with the acquisition of Italian company Flash Line Maintenance S.r.l. (FLM). The Rome-based company currently provides line maintenance services in the Mediterranean region, and its acquisition will enable FL Technics to expand its existing line maintenance network by 15 new line stations to a total of more than 50 line bases across Europe.
“With this latest investment, our own line maintenance station network and the recently acquired Storm Aviation station network, FL Technics is able to significantly strengthen its partnership with existing clients across the [European] continent,” says Zilvinas Lapinskas, chief executive of FL Technics.
FLM, which was founded in 2017 by Daniele Balani, acts as a line maintenance services provider for narrow- and wide-body aircraft and provides line maintenance services at line maintenance stations operating in various airports in Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. The company’s client portfolio includes regional, international, cargo and low-cost airlines, among them Volotea, EasyJet, British Airways CityFlyer, Wizzair, ASL Airlines and Air Dolomiti.
FL Technics has been operating in the MRO services market for some 20 years and has offices in Lithuania, the UK, Indonesia, Thailand and China. The company provides line maintenance services across Europe, the Asia Pacific region, Africa, and CIS countries. To strengthen its position in the Asian region, FL Technics formed joint venture company FL ARI Aircraft Maintenance & Engineering Company Ltd in 2018 with partners China Airlines Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC) and its subsidiary Aircraft Recycling International (ARI) based at Harbin, China.
FL Technics is a member of Avia Solutions Group, one of the largest aerospace business groups from central and eastern Europe.
