First Russian company joins IATA’s Aviation Fuel Group
Gazpromneft-Aero, an aviation fuel operator of Gazprom Neft Company, became the first Russian company to join the International Air Transport Association’s Aviation Fuel Data Standards Group (IATA FDSG).
The group unites airlines, fuel suppliers and into-plane service providers and is responsible for developing and maintaining industry data standards to ensure the efficient and effective data exchange across the aviation fuel industry. IATA FDSG also deals with the development and introduction of globally applicable standards for information exchange between its members in the universal format (XML) at each key stage of the fueling process from tendering to invoicing. This supports the introduction of global automated templates which promote faster information sharing, reduced human error and more efficient aircraft fueling.
“Participation in the development and approval of international standards marks the beginning of a new exciting stage for Gazpromneft-Aero. Implementing international quality standards of aviation fuel supply in Russia is one of our priorities”, said Vladimir Egorov, Gazpromneft-Aero’s General Director adding that it also strengthens the company’s position in the global aviation fuel market.
IATA’s Director Aviation Fuel Lasantha Subasinghe explained that with Gazpromneft-Aero joining the IATA FDSG, the group is now able to address the requirements of the Russian Federation when developing standards for information exchange among the aviation fuel market players.”
Gazpromneft-Aero has been performing aircrafts fueling and “into the wing” aviation fuel sales since January 1, 2008. At the present time, it is the leader at the Russian market of aviation fuel supply. The company works in 170 airports in 61 countries serving 80 foreign carriers.
