Air Astana extends its power-by-the-hour arrangement with AJW Group
Air Astana has extended its power-by-the-hour (PBH) contract for Boeing aircraft with independent aircraft spares specialist AJW Group, which has been providing such support to the flag carrier of Kazakhstan, since 2006.
The latest extension to the contract sees AJW continue to provide support for the airline’s fleet of three Boeing 767-300ERs and four Boeing 757-200s. In addition to PBH support, AJW is also providing a lease package which will give the carrier immediate access to high priority aircraft parts.
Christopher Whiteside, president and chief executive of AJW Group, said: “The extension of our partnership with Air Astana takes us into our 14th year of working together and makes them AJW’s longest standing PBH customer.”
Peter Foster, president and chief executive of Air Astana, added: “As we continue to expand our fleet and route offering, AJW’s PBH and components lease offering means we have the tailored support we need to grow with confidence.”
Air Astana is headquartered at Almaty, Kazakhstan and operates scheduled domestic and international services over a network of 64 routes.
The airline’s fleet currently consists of 20 narrow-body Airbus aircraft: eight А320s, four А321s, as well as three А320neos, four А321neos and one A321LR. In addition Air Astana operates three Boeing 767-300ERs, four Boeing 757-200s and 11 Embraer E190s, including four E190-E2s.
