Aeroflot takes delivery of two more SSJ 100s
Russia’s largest airline, Aeroflot, has taken delivery of two more Sukhoi Superjet 100s, which increases its fleet of this type to 26 aircraft. The two aircraft have already arrived at Aeroflot’s base in Sheremetyevo, according to information from the aircraft’s producer, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC). The aircraft are fitted with 87 seats: 12 in business class and 75 in economy.
Both aircraft are leased from Sberbank Leasing, as are the previously delivered 14. The first batch of 10 airframes was delivered through VEB-Leasing. Aeroflot has signed a firm contract for a total of 30 SSJ 100s. The lessor for the remaining four aircraft has not yet been disclosed.
Aeroflot currently operates these regional jets on several dozen domestic routes and to a few European destinations. The carrier intends to order 20 more SSJ 100s, according to a letter of intent it signed with SCAC in the beginning of 2015.
