GTLK State Transport Leasing Corporation is selected as a lessor for another batch of 20 Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ 100) aircraft to be ordered by Aeroflot Group, Yury Slyusar, president of United Aircraft Corporation told the media this week.

Aeroflot and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, an UAC subsidiary, signed a Letter of intent for the 20 SSJ 100s in 2015, but it has not been converted into a firm order yet. According to Slyusar, the firm contract should be signed in the middle of this year, and the deliveries are to follow shortly after that. Twelve SSJ 100 are scheduled before the end of the year. These aircraft are already enlisted in the production plan. The remaining eight airframes are to enter service in 2018.

According to Aeroflot’s investor report, all 20 SSJ 100s are intended for Aeroflot Group’s subsidiary Rossiya Airlines for replacement of 15 more spacious but ageing Airbus A319.

Last year SCAC completed an initial contract for delivery of 30 SSJ 100s to Aeroflot. Out of this batch 20 aircraft were handed over through Sberbank Leasing and the remaining 10 – through VEB Leasing.
