Aeroflot Group offers nearly 270 destinations in summer schedule
Russia’s flag carrier group is the main driver of the international air travel recovery in the country, as well as the largest domestic carrier
Summer 2024 navigation season, which starts on March 31 and will stretch through October 26, finds Aeroflot Group ahead of the game – both its operational and financial performance is improving, as the number of its aircraft released from foreign registers continues to grow. This allows the Group to expand its domestic route network, as well as add new international destinations.
In the coming summer season, the route network of Aeroflot and its subsidiaries Rossiya and Pobeda includes 269 destinations, representing a seven per cent increase year-on-year. Committed to catering for the accessibility of the regions across Russia’s vast territory, the Group sustain 149 domestic routes.
Over 100 routes will be operated from Aeroflot’s base airport, Moscow’s Sheremetyevo, while the number of routes surpassing Moscow is 139. Aeroflot, a legacy network carrier, operates 127 routes, whilst its subsidiaries – LCC Pobeda and regional Rossiya – to serve over 100 destinations each.
RUSSIA’S MAIN HUB
Aeroflot is boosting frequencies from Moscow to nine destinations. Flights to St Petersburg will be operated from all three Moscow’s airports – Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Vnukovo – for the first time since 2016.
Pobeda will continue operating out of two capital airports – Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo. In June all of its Sheremetyevo flights will be transferred to terminal D, allowing wider travel opportunities through code-share with Aeroflot’s flights.
In the summer Aeroflot Group’s airlines will operate direct routes from Moscow to eight destinations in the Russian Far Eastern region with more frequencies. Those who live in this part of Russia will continue to benefit from state-subsidized travel fares. Aeroflot also runs its own “flat-rate” program, offering fixed rates to the Far East destinations for economy class.
International leisure destinations from Moscow, served by Aeroflot, include Ho Chi Ming City, Male, Bangkok and Phuket, Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh, Antalya, Dalaman, Adana, Izmir and Bodrum. Rossiya continues its service to Varadero and Colombo.
Comfort class is available to Aeroflot and Rossiya passengers to 49 destinations, as airlines strive to bring its service to perfection.
REGIONAL HUBS
The strategy of developing air travel system, which provides direct travel without having to connect through Moscow, is realized through development of regional transport hubs.
The Siberian hub at Krasnoyarsk now serves 28 destinations, of which 19 are domestic. Aeroflot will operate flights to Moscow (along with LCC Pobeda), Bangkok and Phuket. The remaining 25 destinations are served by Rossiya.
The Group’s southern hub, Sochi, handles flights to 24 destinations, both domestic and international. Apart from flights between Moscow and Sochi, Aeroflot connects Russia’s most popular resort on the Black Sea with 11 cities across Russia.
Pobeda offers attractive prices for flights to Sochi from 15 Russian cities.
Rossia complements this offer with flights from three Russian cities, as well as five international routes from Sochi.
In Yekaterinburg, the capital of Ural, the Group continues to serve 13 domestic and international destinations.
To cater for the holiday demand, the Group will serve Antalya from 14 cities in Russia and Thailand from eight.
Turkey’s Istanbul, a major international hub, is accessible from nine Russian cities.
Aeroflot is the largest airline in Russia. Aeroflot Group, along with the title carrier, includes Rossia and Pobeda Airlines. Aeroflot Group, the indisputable leader of the Russian commercial aviation sector, carried 47.3 million passengers in 2023, of which 25.2 million passengers were served by Aeroflot itself.
