Aeroflot Group dominates in main categories at Wings of Russia Awards
Aeroflot Group airlines triumphed in five main categories at the prestigious Wings of Russia national aviation award. The ceremony was held on 10 April at the Renaissance Moscow Monarch Centre Hotel.
Aeroflot, the Group’s flagship carrier, was recognised as a leader in three categories. The carrier was once again named Airline of the Year in the International Scheduled Passenger Carrier category, and won the Domestic Passenger Carrier, Group 1 category for the first time in several years. The airline continued to dominate in the prestigious Russian Airline of the Year — People’s Choice Prize nomination, which is awarded based on the results of an online passenger survey.
Also noted was the continued sustainable growth of Aeroflot’s subsidiaries. Low-cost carrier Pobeda won the title of Airline of the Year in the Domestic Passenger Carrier, Group 2 category. This award is another confirmation of the fact that since its creation, Pobeda has become an integral part of the domestic aviation industry, providing Russians with affordable flights at unprecedented low tariffs.
Aurora, Aeroflot Group’s carrier in the Russian Far East, has once again won theAir Transportation on Regional Routes category.
The Wings of Russia Awards were founded in 1997 and undertake to attract public attention to the achievements of Russian airlines, help develop the professional community, empower the image of Russian civil aviation in the global arena, and create a favourable investment climate for the industry.
