Aeroflot extends elite level status for loyalty programme members by one year

The move is a reward for the loyalty of the Russian flag-carrier’s frequent fliers who are forced to limit their travel in the current environment

With airline traffic quickly fading away, Russia’s national carrier Aeroflot has extended the elite level status for the members of its Aeroflot Bonus frequent flyer programme through to the end of February 2022. The decision is aimed at rewarding the loyalty of Aeroflot’s frequent fliers who are being forced to limit their travel in the current environment and are therefore accumulating fewer bonus miles.

“We greatly value our loyal customers and appreciate their trust and choice of Aeroflot. The current situation, which is beyond our control, is disrupting travel plans and preventing many passengers from accruing air miles. With this in mind, we have decided to make a gift to them by extending the elite status for Aeroflot Bonus members through the entirety of 2021,” Aeroflot spokesperson Yulia Spivakova reveals.

The Platinum level will be extended through the end of 2021 for current Platinum customers as well as those members who had their status downgraded to Gold on 1 March 2020 following the 2019 results. Customers whose Gold and Silver level status expires on 28 February 2021 will enjoy an extension of their status for the same period.

Aeroflot Bonus is the largest loyalty programme in the Russia and CIS region. Currently, the programme has more than nine million participants. Members receive air miles for flying on Aeroflot, its subsidiaries Rossiya and Aurora and SkyTeam Alliance member airlines, as well as by purchasing products and services from partners.
