Focusing on connectivity of Russia’s regions and cities, Aeroflot Group made further significant progress in the development of its regional hubs last year.

The Group’s airlines – Aeroflot, Rossiya and Pobeda – achieved operational growth at all its key regional bases in Krasnoyarsk, Sochi and St. Petersburg, giving a strong impetus to the development of these gateways.

KRASNOYARSK (KJA)

In 2024, Aeroflot Group airlines operated flights from Krasnoyarsk International Airport to 27 domestic and 10 international destinations and provided half of the airport’s record total passenger traffic.

In total they transported 2.16 million passengers through the Siberian hub, an impressive growth of 38% year-on-year. Of these, more than 1.8 million (+31%) traveled domestically. International routes experienced the growth of 84%, with more than 350,000 passengers carried.

On Aeroflot and Rossiya flights operated under the SU code, passenger traffic via Krasnoyarsk exceeded 2 million for the first time. LCC Pobeda additionally carried more than 135,000 passengers.

  • Osh, Kyrgyzstan (44,000).

SOCHI (AER)

Last year Aeroflot, Rossiya and Pobeda operated flights from the southern hub of Sochi on 25 routes: 18 domestic routes and 7 – international.

Airlines of the Group carried almost 5.5 million passengers, a 5% improvement on 2023, and in the contrast to the 1.3% decline of Russia’s major resort total traffic. The Group accounted for 40% of the Sochi’s total passenger traffic, with its share gaining 3 p.p. over the year.

Of a total, 5.2 million passengers were carried on intra-Russian routes (+7% year-on-year).

The flag carrier served 2.8 million passengers, which is 11% more than a year earlier.

  • Istanbul, Turkey (135,000).

ST. PETERSBURG (LED)

Aeroflot Group airlines transported more than 11.1 million passengers through Pulkovo base airport in 2024, up 5% from 2023. The Group accounts for more than half of the traffic at St. Petersburg’s gateway.

Of this, more than 10.3 million traveled on domestic lines, 3% more than last year (while airport’s number of domestic passengers decreased). Group’s international traffic through LED increased by 40%, with 804,000 transported.

Most of the passengers were served by the airport’s base carrier – Rossiya Airlines. Aeroflot’s subsidiary’s traffic to/from St. Petersburg amounted to 6.7 million, representing a 28% growth.

Aeroflot Shuttle, a program of high-frequency flights between Moscow and St. Petersburg, was launched last June. As a result, traffic on flights between the cities grew 28% to more than 2.2 million from June through December.

In total, all airlines of the Group carried almost 4 million passengers on flights between St. Petersburg and Moscow in 2024, ensuring a 20% year-on-year growth.

  • Makhachkala (253,000)
  • Samara (248,000)
  • Perm (246,000).

Overall, last year, despite difficulties and challenges related to the geopolitical and economic situation, Russia’s largest airline group, Aeroflot, demonstrated double-digit operational growth.

Aeroflot, Rossiya and Pobeda carried a total of 55.3 million passengers, an increase of 16.8% year-on-year, demonstrating a growth rate which is three times higher than the industry average.
