Aeroflot, Russia’s flag carrier and the country’s undisputed leader, has taken delivery of its first A350-900, becoming the launch operator of the latest generation wide-body aircraft in eastern Europe and the CIS.

Aeroflot has a total of 22 A350-900s on order, but has thus far firmed only 14. Some are intended to replace the A330s, as the airline plans to retire 10 such aircraft within the next three years. The all-new airliners will be operated from Moscow to a number of destinations including London, Dubai, New York, Miami, Osaka and Beijing.

Aeroflot’s A350 features not only a new livery but also a brand new cabin design. The 316-seat aircraft has a three-class cabin layout offering 28 business class suites with full-flat sleeper seats, 24 premium economy seats and 264 in economy class. For added comfort and enhanced passenger experiences on long-haul flights, it is equipped with the Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system, as well as HD screens and wi-fi connectivity.

A member of the SkyTeam alliance, Aeroflot operates 249 jets including an Airbus fleet of 126 aircraft (107 A320 family and 19 A330 family aircraft).
