Russia’s S7 Airlines and JAL to further expand codeshare cooperation

Russia’s S7 Airlines (S7) and Japan Airlines (JAL), both members of the Oneworld airlines alliance, have agreed to further expand their codeshare cooperation by adding new destinations in Russia. Flights between Tokyo (Narita) and Irkutsk (codeshare flights start April 29) / Novosibirsk (codeshare flights start June 2) added to network. Through this agreement, JAL’s codeshare flights in Russia will be increased from 20 to 22 routes.

Reservation and ticket sales for the new codeshare flights will start from April 17.

Operational results of S7 Airlines in the first quarter of 2018, positioned it to reclaim its title as Russia’s second largest commercial air operator after flag carrier Aeroflot. The airline has a broad domestic route network with hubs at Moscow’s Domodedovo and Novosibirsk’s Tolmachevo. Last year the airline inaugurated more than 20 new scheduled domestic flights, including from Moscow to Petrozavodsk, Lipetsk and Bryansk; from St. Petersburg to Kaliningrad, Kaluga and Yaroslavl; from Novosibirsk to Omsk, Perm, Abakan, Gorno-Altaisk, and Chelyabinsk.
