MAKS: Venue change planned for next show

Zhukovsky has been the MAKS venue since 1992 Rostec Corporation CEO Sergey Chemezov says Kubinka is likely to host the 2019 exhibition (Kremlin)

The next MAKS exhibition, to take place in 2019, could be held at a different location, Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec Corporation, told journalists on July 18.

Asked whether Zhukovsky outside Moscow, which traditionally hosts the show, would be used as the venue for its 2019 iteration, Chemezov said: “I do not think it will. A new exhibition center has been built at Kubinka [military base to the west of Moscow]. Work is ongoing to extend the runway there. The venue already has exhibition pavilions, and chalets will also be built.”

Zhukovsky’s Gromov Flight Research Institute has been hosting biennial MAKS exhibitions since 1992. Rostec Corporation is one of the MAKS organizers.
