Kazakhstan’s low-cost FlyArystan reveals its 2020 summer season plans

FlyArystan FlyArystan is continuing to utilise its Air Astana parent’s Airline Operator’s Certificate (AOC) ahead of receiving its own (FlyArystan)

FlyArystan, the low-cost division of Kazakhstan’s national carrier Air Astana, has announced its sales plan for the 2020 IATA summer season in which it is offering more than a million seats on flights to 13 destinations across its route network.

FlyArystan operates a fleet of three Airbus A320-200s, each configured with 180 seats, in a network that includes 10 domestic flights from Almaty to the capital city of Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana), Taraz, Shymkent, Karaganda, Uralsk and Pavlodar, and from Nur-Sultan to Semey, Pavlodar, Shymkent and Taraz.

With the low-cost carrier preparing to launch its first international service to Moscow before the end of this year, the outlook for 2020 includes adding more domestic routes from new bases at Aktobe and Karaganda, eventually boosting its operations to 70 flights a day. The fleet is planned to reach 10 A320s within the next 12 months, and at least 15 units by 2022.

At the recent 2019 Dubai Air Show, Air Astana signed a letter of intent with Boeing for the delivery of 30 Boeing 737 MAXs, with those aircraft to join FlyArystan’s fleet.
