Eurasian market facts & figures. Focus: S7 Group

The cumulative traffic of S7 Group (which is made of parent S7 Airlines and Globus Airlines) grew 20.2% in October, 2016 to 1.113 million passengers

In September, the group’s growth rate reached 27.3%. Commenting on October results the airline said that they are in line with the forecast. The traffic growth rate is expected to pick up again in November and December.

S7 Airlines has ordered 17 Embraer EMB170LRs with deliveries start in 2017. The airline expects to receive 10 out of 17 ordered regional jets in 2017. The remaining batch will be joining S7’s fleet within next three years, however, the company emphasizes the deliveries may be sped up should the need arise.

S7 Group has placed a firm order for three Airbus A321neos and a commitment for two A320neos in spring of this year. The first re-engined A320neo is expected to be delivered by spring of 2017.

S7 plans to completely replace its A320 fleet with the re-engined variants in the next decade. The carrier’s Airbus fleet currently includes 20 A319s and 19 A320s as well as six A321s. In addition, there are also two Boeing 767s in service currently.
