Ukraine’s largest airport, Kyiv Boryspil continues to demonstrate steady growth of passenger traffic. In October the airport handled 797,400 passengers, which is 20% more than for the same month last year. Double-digit growth rate continues from August (20%) and September (18%).

Since the beginning of the year Boryspil (IATA code: KBP) has handled 7.264 million passengers, a 16% increase over the same period of last year. One of the main growth drivers is the surge in the number of transit passengers – up 47% to the first nine months of last year, to 1.899 million passengers. Other factors include dynamic development of Boryspil’s base carrier Ukraine International Airlines, improved passenger experience and the airport’s efforts to attract new carriers.

On the whole Ukraine’s air travel market has been demonstrating steady growth recently. At the end of three quarters of this year the total number of passengers who traveled on Ukrainian airlines grew to 6.195 million, exceeding the results of the same period of last year by 26.7%. Ukrainian airports’ cumulative traffic at the same time grew 16.8% to 9.652 million passengers.
