Kazakhstan’s national carrier, Air Astana, is introducing Inmarsat’s Global Xpress Aviation system, providing broadband Internet access on board all of its Boeing 767 long-haul aircraft. The carrier has contracted Rockwell Collins to take care of installation.

The first aircraft will be equipped in September 2016, while the other two will be fitted with Internet in March and September 2017. Air Astana’s passengers will be able to use the Internet connection on their personal devices such as laptops, tablets and smart-phones in economy as well as in business-class.

A number of international carriers have already chosen the GX Aviation, including the solution’s launch customer Air China, as well as Qatar Airways and Lufthansa.
