Aeroflot wins Air Transport News Readers’ Choice Award for second year

Aeroflot has won the Air Transport News Readers’ Choice Award, one of the world’s most prestigious aviation awards, for the second year running at a gala awards ceremony held on 25 March in Athens. 



Air Transport News is a leading online news and analytical agency covering the global aviation industry. Since its foundation it has become one of the key information sources in the industry. Awarded annually to airlines, airports and other industry participants, the Air Transport News Awards recognise outstanding achievement in aviation, and are considered the most comprehensive in the sector. In previous years, ATN’s golden olive wreath was presented to some of the world’s leading four- and five-star airlines, including Qatar, Emirates and Turkish Airlines.

The Readers’ Choice award is effectively a Grand Prix, presented to the airline that garners most votes in an electronic poll of aviation experts and consumers themselves, who judge based on their personal experience of the outstanding quality of service offered to them. In 2017, the decision of the voters remained unchanged and the prize has been awarded to Aeroflot.

Winning ATN’s Readers’ Choice Award for the second year running is a sign of recognition of Aeroflot’s best-in-class customer service, the airline’s fleet that is among the youngest globally and the carrier’s relentless focus on safety and comfort.

Customers are  increasingly recognizing the advantages of flying with Aeroflot – traffic increased 11% last year to nearly 29 million passengers. Aeroflot is seeing particular growth in international transit traffic, with more passengers choosing the Russian airline for travel between Europe and Asia via our modern hub at Sheremetyevo airport.

Aeroflot continues to focus on digitalisation of Aeroflot, including leveraging Big Data at the corporate level for refining marketing and customer communications.
